S P E C I A L request ?
Hi everyone, I am asking if it is possible for us to have our “next” Drupal meet on the Monday-night 15th, or Wednesday-night 17th , as both Sheena and I have an important prior engagement on the Tuesday night 16th . . . And we sooo don’t want to miss the meet up with you all – if that is at all possible? . . . but we certainly don't want to put anyone else out by wanting to do so.
Just if it is possiable Cheers Arthur & Sheena
Two Great Articles I Came Across
I was recently checking out my daily news feed and found two great articles, one on working with services which is becoming more and more prominent when creating websites, as well as one about how to use javascript correctly in Drupal.
Check out this article on working with external web services
Now I would say most of us are guilty of this, I know I am, but just going straight into jQuery and not using Drupals behaviours (behaviors) functionality.
Job opportunity in Brisbane
Hi Guys just received an email that could interest one of you maybe:
<
pre>Hi Victor,
Please forgive the email introduction - I was hoping to chat with you regarding an exciting employment opportunity
I'm recruiting for in Brisbane. The role is a "Client Advisors" position with a global leading Drupal
Support organisation.
The meeting - new direction?
Hi, The meeting went well, although Jonathan failed to show (he is apparently heavily repentent for this). So it was just myself and Ian Mavor.
As I guessed (and some of you maybe had too) their needs have changed. The holiday house situation has solved itself. They had (as a test it sounds like) put the house on the stayz website.
CiviCRM
Hi, In passing, Ian from Hopewell asked about CiviCRM and my thoughts on it. I have no experience with it. So, for the sake of any advice for him... has anyone got any comments about CiviCRM generally, or vs other options?
I'm not sure how big a system they require, but apparently handling their various contacts, clients, benefactors etc is a headache currently and he likes the look of CiviCRM.
Thanks
Ready to chip in
Hi folks, have been watching this thread as it runs and think that you are doing a fabulous job of putting together a site for group members so all can be involved. Sorry I haven't been to meetups in the past year but it's a good haul down to Varsity Lakes for me from Beenleigh, and at night (I'm NOT a night owl) when you meet but hope you will accept my input here online even so. Stuck midway between the Brisbane and GC meets!!! Am currently busy busy doing sites for my own business but really need to network more I think. So .....
A step in the right direction
Hi,
(ps. Happy to help too with the dgc charity site - how, when and where I can, I'm not sure, but if I see something I can help with I'll put my hand up.)
Wondering if anyone would care to share their thoughts on this. I think I need to start organising a better way of managing my site and future sites. So I'm wondering what options I have, and what might be an ideal setup to take me to the next level (man, does that sound corny!)
Currently:
What I have is a site being hosted temporarily (thank you kind host!).
DGC charity website
Howdy folks,
Great to see everyone at the latest October meetup. One of the things we discussed was Jaymie's idea to our user group building a Drupal site for a Gold Coast charity. One day a month from a few members will give us the opportunity to build a real site, following best practices, spread the Drupal love and give some time back to charity. Sounds like a win win.
So we'll be using the site here at drupalgoldcoast.com to track the development. If those interested could comment here.
Thoughts on image/gallery modules for Drupal 6
Hi everybody, hoping for some opinions on this!
I am integrating image handling and galleries into my Drupal 6 site.
What I'm going for is the following:
* Easy upload of images (ie if possible multiple files at once, including batch setting of extra fields).
* A way to limit the size of uploaded images - anything that resizes images before they are uploaded?
* Small sidebar blocks showing a limited number of thumbnails, ideally built with Views. Like a mini gallery.
* Main content galleries, with medium sized pictures.
Ubercart Issue
Hi All
I am having problems with an Ubercart site whereby the cart gets cleared when the Checkout button is clicked. I can't for the life of me, replicate the problem. It happened to a customer using Chrome and Debian Linux. If anybody has this setup and you don't mind helping me test, let me know and I'll send through the website link. I just need you to go to the site put a few products in your cart, then try and checkout. I'm trying to determine if it's a procedural error or a browser/OS error.
Thanks Heather
